Five Elements Meditation

with Khyung Rinpoche

4-5 July 2026

ZOOM ONLINE

Registration by email: dechenritro@gmail.com by 29 June 2026

In this weekend retreat, Khyung Rinpoche will teach meditation and visualization practices of the Five Elements together with mantra recitation. The teachings are based on the Dzogchen view, in which the elements are understood both as cosmic principles and as manifestations of consciousness.

In the context of Yungdrung Bön and Dzogchen, the Five Elements Meditation is both a healing practice and a profound contemplative method. It works with the five elemental energies — earth, water, fire, air, and space — not merely as physical substances, but as fundamental dimensions of existence, consciousness, and energetic balance. Through meditation, participants learn to recognize the effects of elemental imbalance and restore natural harmony, supporting both physical and spiritual wellbeing.

Within Dzogchen teachings, the five elements form the basis of the deep interconnection between all beings and the environment on several interconnected levels:

  • outer elements — the natural world

  • inner elements — the body and energetic system

  • secret elements — qualities of the nature of mind itself

By purifying obscurations and balancing energetic disturbances, the Five Elements Meditation helps harmonize the elemental energies of body and mind, enabling the practitioner to more naturally recognize and abide in the natural state of mind, which is primordially pure and perfect. The practice is not only beneficial for ourselves but helps to balance and pacify the elements around us.

Khyung Rinpoche will also teach and give the transmission of the sacred A KAR SA LE Ö mantra. This mantra is considered a profound method for purifying obscurations and supporting the direct recognition of the nature of mind. Through its recitation and visualization, the environment and all appearances are gradually understood as manifestations of the nature of mind itself.

These two days offer a complete approach: connecting with the elements as the basis of life while directly approaching the nature of mind through Dzogchen practice.

This course is suitable both for beginners and for those with previous experience in Dzogchen meditation.
